Corneal Gas Permeable Lenses

Corneal gas permeable (GP) or rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses are designed to improve visual acuity by masking the underlying corneal shape. This is an excellent option for individuals with moderate astigmatism or corneas with mild to moderate irregularity from surgery, disease or scarring. Lens adaptation can take 1-2 weeks for new wearers. GP lenses are available in single vision, bifocal, trifocal and even multifocal designs depending on the vision correction you are seeking.

Custom Soft Contact Lenses

Not all soft contact lenses are made alike. Off-the-shelf soft contact lenses come in preset and limited parameters that can complicate fits for eyes with unique shapes or sizes. Going custom allows the doctor to tailor every parameter - from materials and diameter to lens optics and design - to your individual eye shape and correction so that fit, vision and comfort is optimized.

Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses are large diameter gas permeable lenses designed to rest on the white part of your eyes and vault the cornea. They are filled with non-preserved saline before application and the cornea is immersed in this layer of fluid for the duration of wear. The advantages of sclerals over RGP lenses are reduced lens awareness, all-day lubrication and protection of the ocular surface which makes this an ideal option for individuals with severe dry eyes, irregular and/or fragile corneas.

Prosthetic Lenses

For individuals who have unsatisfactory cosmetic appearance and/or extra light sensitivity due to a missing or irregular pupil or iris from traumatic injury, surgical complication or a congenital condition, prosthetic lenses are the solution. Custom designed lenses can be tinted to reduce or block glare. For cosmetic improvement, they can be overlaid with a standard color or handpainted to match the look of your “normal” eye.
